First up this week we have Miss Spicey. I tried to capture a rare moment when her medusa-like hair was coiffed and tidy. She could hardly take her eyes off Wonder Pets! to give me a smile.

I then clicked what I thought was a sweet expression. When the photo appeared on the LCD screen this is what I really got:

I tried again and captured this:

Finally with a huge case of the giggles I got this:

After this picture I scrunched her up into a little ball and smooched the daylights out of her.
So. I had more pictures but my digital camera mysteriously disappeared and no one seems to know where. I suspect it was swiped to take pictures of Bionicles in cool action poses but no one is 'fessing up.
I earned major points today with my son when I took him to spend his birthday money on a new game for his GameBoy. We went to a local new/used game trading post where he picked up a previously loved cartridge of Mario Brothers 3. By the end of the afternoon he was within 2 levels of saving the princess. Um, yeah. He's six. When I tried to help him through a difficult part and fell off the first ledge without even trying to jump he looked up at me with wide eyes and then gently took it out of my hands and said, "That's okay. I'll do it."
Good news? Why yes! I do have some good news. Since THIS post there has been progress:
- We will hopefully have our car back on Monday.
- My new debit card finally arrived and lo and behold it actually matches the correct bank account. I'm still waiting for a PIN but at least it's here.
- The magpies- good and bad news. The good news is that the eggs hatched and the birds are out of the nest and hunkering down in the next door neighbor's shrubbery. We are no longer dealing with screeching magpies at 5:30am. The bad news? It's my cat Betsy's fault that they are in the shrubs and not their nest. She sort of compromised the nest and they all fell out. She's been isolated indoors for two days to prevent her from eating the baby birds. She is TICKED OFF about this and has had to lower herself to actually using the litter box. Heaven forbid. I can't in good conscience let her outside knowing she'll go devour two baby birds right under their mother's nose (beak?). She deserves to be dive bombed by the parent birds but I don't want to deal with the screeching.
And finally to wrap up the week, a conversation I had with the young lad Cool whose brain never stops ticking and whose mouth never stops talking. Not that I'm complaining.
Him: Mommy, I love my family. I love myself the best.
Me: I'm glad you love yourself but it's important to try to love all your family members equally.
Him: I do! I love mommy the best. I love daddy the best. I love myself the best. I even love Betsy and Spicey!
I decided to just be thankful that he mentioned loving his sister even if she is lumped in the same category as the cat.

You forgot the chocolate chip cookies on Friday. Life doesn't get any better than those with milk, you know. :)
Very impressed with the hair. I am the worst at hair! Do you teach classes?
She is a doll.
Especially when she makes faces!!!
OH MY STARS she's a cute kid!!! SOOOO cute! And, she might even have her momma's sense of humor!
Don't you just dig the way she's working the camera?
I just love that kid Cool... he is just so dang adorable. :)
P.S. SweetPea was into making those IDENTICAL faces after coffee the other day, much to her Daddy's dismay. hahahahaha
I think the bionicles took the camera. I also wanted to offer my hearty congrats on the ATM card. What a pain such a little thing can be.
You know, my kid would probably love being lumped into the same category as the cat. She loves our cat so much. So maybe he did her a favor :)
Now that blogger seems to be behaving...
What a cute kid. I love her personality!
(P.S. thanks for stopping by my blog!)
