Random Thought Round-Up (Yeehaw)

None of these thoughts are worthwhile to blog about on their own so I'll just throw them in together and make one big not very worthwhile post. Good times. Hey! It's Monday!

Let's start with my handsome little fella, Cool. Click on his name if you're a new reader and are wondering why in the hay-hoo I call my child "cool". No, his real name is not Cool but it is in blogworld to protect his innocence. And because hey, I post his photo on the internet but heaven forbid I should use his REAL name. That would just really be over the line.

I walked by his room the other day and found him sitting quietly on his bed creating Bionicles, his current favorite pastime. The sun was glowing through the window on his beautiful blond self and I fell in love with my child again for the five bazillionth time since his birth. And you should smell his head. I love the way my kids smell.

Don't you love the way his little toes are curled around that Bionicle piece? Me too! He was careful to turn their heads to face the camera so that they could smile too. If Bionicles smile, that is. They're pretty fierce.

Next topic: referring URL's . . . again. I love these. I just crack up at the searches that people find me through. Keep in mind that if several words in the search are used in my blog posts or in the comments it will get brought up in the search. Even if they aren't used in the same post or even the same sentence. I've started to keep a list next to my computer. Here are a few from last week for your Monday viewing enjoyment.

  • How to look big in a fight
  • Chuck E. Cheese Christian
  • Carrie Bradshaw favourite shoe
  • Teenager sin diaper (no, I'm not kidding)
  • At least a dozen "long sweeping bangs" and "wedge haircut photo" searches

And finally, I learned how to use the buttonholer for my sewing machine this weekend. April gave it to me for my birthday and gave me a little 101 on Saturday. It was awesome. Totally hands-free buttonholing. I have died and gone to sewing heaven.

Look at her go!

And last, my darling nephew playing in my sewing box. He stacked the spools, lined them up, and rearranged the contents of the whole top tray. Just as I like to see it done. I only had to unwind him from a thread explosion once, so careful was he about playing with the thread and following directions. I love him. He is the cutest.

We're all well this morning. But we all attended church yesterday so I expect that in another day or so one of us will probably come down with something or other. Church is a veritable germfest in the winter.

I finished Pride and Prejudice last night. Loved it. Emma will be my next conquest.

Happy Monday.

ok, not to assume anything, but is that HIS bed he's sitting on? The pink and purple one? go ahead and clear that one up. I'm all for not 'assigning' specific colors for gender. just curious! :)

Yes, it's his bed. It's tan and blue plaid. The other colors are barn red and dark green.

What's wrong with pink and purple for a boy? I expected more tolerance from a liberal like you. :)

I liked the Chuckee Cheese Christian the best!

He is absolutely darling. I love those clear moments of knowing exactly how precious your own child is. Sometimes, we just don't notice until the sun shines on their heads.

UGH! That kid just gets cuter and cuter everytime I see him! Can I just eat him up with a spoon? Huh? Can I? Can I? Please?

I just want to smooch all over his face, just to hear him say "Yuck Auntie Beth!" and wipe it off!!!

I think that is the first picture I've seen of him. He's adorable.

Oh, I love how my kids smell, too. I sniff them like crazy.

And 'teenage sin diaper'? I'm snorting all over the place here. LOL. I never, ever get fun search hits like that.

Beautiful pictures with that soft sunlight glowing from behind that adorable boy of yours.
Wondering when I'll start getting those fun searches. I bet those bring smiles when you see them.

Good work on Pride and Prejudice! Might I recommend Anna Karenina? It's a TON of work, but so worth it. Except it's also depressing....so maybe wait until the winter blahs season is gone for good?
I love these sundry mishmash posts...I feel like they're such a good way to get an accurate glimpse of someone's thoughts and life.

Smiling at you, smiling at Cool, and Congratulating you on your win, today!

Oh, does your button-holer have you just snap in a button and hit the foot for "perfet button holes every time"? I love that.

Cool is such a sweet looking boy. I love that he can entertain himself while creating something fun. (Wonder where he gets that? NOT.)

OK, Grammy. Don't rub it in. We must be thankful for the small things. And by the way, I'm still waiting for a blog post demonstrating all your new machine's functions. :)

Believe it or not it is a HUGE step up from the buttonhole mechanism on my 1990s model Kenmore.

little c just saw cool's picture, and was excited to see what cool was doing on there???!! Then he saw himself "making towers" with your spools of thread and was even more excited! He loves his auntie too.
