This trio of wisemen candlestick holders were my mom's and stood in our home every year at Christmas for my entire life. They were always my favorite Christmas decoration and as a child I used to study them and gently run my fingers over their beautiful robes when she wasn't looking. I must have done something really great because she gave them to me several years ago for no particular reason. I almost fell over with shock and joy and then sprinted out of the house with the box tucked in a football hold before she had time to think it over and come to her senses. If she ever wants them back she'll have to pry them from my cold dead fingers. Sorry Ma.
I t r e a s u r e them and they DO NOT get stowed away in the attic with the other Christmas decor. They have their own special climate controlled place of honor on the top shelf of my closet. I would have to be hospitalized if anything ever happened to them.

I'd better never come to visit you for fear of those wise men. I'd be sure to tip and break one, and then you'd be sent away to the white sterile place and I'd be consumed with endless grief and guilt.
Yeah, imagine the fine line my children walk. They're one step away from living at the zoo during the holidays. One false move . . .(haha)
Nothing like that in my mom's house ever stayed in one piece. I am not only amazed at the pieces themselves but that they are all in one piece. no crazy glued heads?
You bring up a very good point. My family consisted of two parents and two daughters. There wasn't much noisy, rough activity goin' on. On the OTHER hand, my husband's home was parents and three boys. There are many things that his mom says, "Yeah, I put that way for 10 years or so until the boys moved out." I should probably take that into consideration. No crazy glued heads yet. :) Thanks for the laugh, though.
I love those. Will you keep them out later this month incase "anyone" stops by?
(and I ain't talkin' about Santa. I don't even think he plays Rook.)
FYI, you are So beating Jack's Raging Mommy right at this moment.
Check my blog. Tag!
Are you kidding? Santa played a few rounds with us last year. He shot the moon every hand. Don't play him unless you want to get schooled.
Those kings were a gift to your dad and me the second year we were married. They stayed safe on the fireplace mantle. I have so much Christmas stuff and I figured they'd be in good hands! I never realized how much they meant to you as a child. Enjoy!
