I always laugh when I answer the phone in the middle of the day and someone who is not a telemarketer asks for my husband as if he's just sitting around here at 1:00 in the afternoon. (Don't I wish) I was surprised to take a message today from Clark on the HOA board. At first I started to get fired up. Give it a rest, Clark. Wednesday is trash pick up day. There's a reason why the garbage can is unconcealed today. But it turns out someone nominated my husband to fill a vacancy on the HOA board. Does he know we've only been here 6 weeks and we've already been cited for misconduct? Wow, thanks but no thanks Clark.
Remember how I said that my 4 friends didn't have hurt feelings if one or two got together without the whole clan? As soon as I wrote that I realized it's not entirely true. J and A and their husbands are leaving on Sunday for a 6-day tropical vacation together. Oh how I wish I was leaving the cold behind and heading out with them. My consolation is that I know they will return with lots of stories that will make me laugh and they're the thoughtful kind of girls that will bring me back a treat. J and A: I'd love a fresh pineapple and I wear a 34B in coconut shell bras.
And finally, it is colder than cold today. I had to put my coat on. The real coat. The one that is made of wool and has a hood. When it is this cold the green sweater comes out of the closet and gets worn around the house. The one my husband has threatened to burn if it's ever left out unattended. The one my son complains about because he thinks it's itchy. Welcome back ugly Green Sweater that I love so much.

Laylee is just over two and a half. So she's a two-er two than most. She's also a freakishly verbal kid. It's one of her "special skills." At her 2 year checkup she was speaking in 9-word sentances. Not exactly normal. The potty training, yeah...ummm.....the giving away of the diapers......pretty much symbolic. I think we had 8 accidents today which is more than the total number of wet diapers she normally has so.....umm....we're working on that.
As for the green sweater, I love it, but then I used to be a librarian. If your husband really wants to get rid of it, he can just mail it to me.
I have a niece who was like Laylee. Is she participating in Nanowrimo too? :)
He'll have to pry the green sweater from my cold, dead fingers.
